Bloom’s Story Begins Here

❊ Founder of Bloom AEP!

Meet Julia

Hi, I'm Julia Francesca Concetta Carlino, the founder of Bloom. I am an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, Accredited Exercise Scientist, and a Disability Support Worker.

Movement has always been a passion of mine. When life gets a little busy, exercise is what helps me reset, refocus, and feel my best. As I learnt more about the powerful physiological benefits of exercise, I became fascinated by the science behind movement and its ability to improve health, function, and quality of life. This passion led me to complete my Master's degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology, where I discovered the perfect balance between science, movement, and helping others.

Alongside my studies, I have spent over four years working as a Disability Support Worker, supporting individuals with a wide range of abilities and backgrounds. Through these experiences, I have seen firsthand the positive impact that meaningful support, movement, and community participation can have on a person's confidence, independence, and wellbeing.

Helping others has always been at the heart of what I do. I value compassion, empathy, and selflessness, and I am passionate about empowering people to become the best version of themselves. Whether you're navigating a disABILITY, cancer treatment, chronic disease, or healthy ageing, my goal is to provide personalised support that helps you move with confidence, achieve meaningful goals, and continue doing the things you love.

Today, I have the privilege of supporting individuals across the NDIS, Oncology, and Aged Care sectors, helping them build strength, improve function, and work towards goals that matter most to them!

BLOOM’S APPROACH & VALUES

At Bloom, we believe exercise is never one-size-fits-all.

Bloom was created to help bridge the gap between the overwhelming evidence supporting the physiological benefits of exercise and the limited awareness and access many people have to these services, particularly those living with a disABILITY, Cancer, Chronic health conditions, and Age-related challenges.

Above all, Bloom was built on the values of authenticity, genuine care, compassionate support, and meeting people where they are at. We believe in honest conversations, practical guidance, and evidence-based recommendations without the jargon, unrealistic expectations, or "quick-fix" solutions. Our goal is to create a supportive environment where every person feels heard, valued, and empowered to thrive.

We recognised the need for a service that not only delivers evidence-based exercise interventions, but also genuinely understands the unique needs, goals, and circumstances of each individual. At Bloom, every exercise program is carefully tailored to the person in front of us, taking into consideration their health history, abilities, preferences, lifestyle, and what matters most to them.

Using evidence-based practice, we prescribe exercise designed to create meaningful physiological adaptations that improve strength, mobility, balance, endurance, independence, and overall quality of life.
